White Mountains, NH (December, 2009) - The Believe in Books Literacy Foundation (BIBLF) gave out over $6,000 worth of holiday gifts to North Country Head Start programs and the Angels & Elves program of the Mt. Washington Valley.

Over the past two weeks, BIBLF was able to visit Head Start Programs in Carroll, Coos and Grafton Counties of NH and Oxford County in Maine distributing scarves and brand-new books to over 200 children. The Foundation also donated over 250 scarves to the Angels & Elves program in Mt. Washington Valley.

The Believe in Books Literacy Foundation, known best for their Polar Express fundraising event, is a North Country nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization guided by a volunteer Board of Directors, and supported by hundreds of dedicated volunteers and contributors from the communities they serve.

As a result of fourteen years of fundraising efforts, the Literacy Foundation has given over $600,000 through literacy programs, scholarship, grants and book distributions in Northern New Hampshire and Western Maine.

Much needed sponsorships and donations allow the BIBLF to continue to fund literacy programs throughout the area and expose, encourage and excite children and their families with the joys of reading.
