FIRST SUGARIN’ SEASON!
Intervale, NH (March, 2010) - The Believe in Books Literacy Foundation had their first Sugaring season in the 100 Acre Wood! Even though the season was a short one, they were able to produce almost 100 gallons of fresh pure New Hampshire Maple Syrup.
This past weekend BIBLF participated in New Hampshire’s Maple Weekend. Over 250 guests stopped by the Sugar Shack, sampled hot maple syrup, gathered sap in the Sugar Bush and walked along the trails of our “Storywalk”.
“We had great weather for our guests, not so great for sugarin’! Everyone had a good time and the school groups were a lot of fun,” explains BIBLF’s Executive Director, Mr. A.O. Lucy.
BIBLF hosted over 200 school children with their mid-week Maple tours.
They now have syrup for sale. So stop by the Believe in Books office in Intervale, directly across from Town Hall Road to pick some up today! Or, order on-line.
Purchasing maple syrup, a trail pass, participating in our events or making a tax-deductible donation, allows the BIBLF to continue to fund literacy programs throughout Northern New England and expose, encourage and excite children and families with the joys of reading.
The Believe in Books Literacy Foundation, known best for their Polar Express fundraising event, is a North Country nonprofit 501 (c) (3) organization supported by volunteers and contributors from the communities they serve.
