• As a result of fifteen years of fundraising efforts, Believe in Books Literacy Foundation has given over a million dollars worth of literacy programs, scholarships, grants and book distributions in New Hampshire and Western Maine.

• All of our literacy programs are offered free of charge.

• The area we serve covers four counties in New Hampshire and Western Maine, and growing!

• Currently we visit over 50 preschools reading stories, visiting with storybook
characters and distributing brand new books to more than 1,500 households annually.

• Provide new books and literacy education to families of all registered newborns through participating hospitals.

• Directly mail brand new books and parenting information at important developmental stages up to age 5 to all children enrolled in program, each child builds a library of their very own.

• Colorful book bags are filled with up to 10 different books and available to check out from local libraries, also rotated during the school year through our Outreach visits to preschools and Head Start programs.

• Volunteers who meet the requirements are eligible for our annual Scholarship Program to promote further education for all ages.

• Encourage both, the love of reading, and the love of the outdoors by guiding families along paths and trails while reading books through our StoryWalk Program.

• Bring literacy, education and community together with our Earth Day Event to promote conservation to our youth, with Dr. Seuss' The Lorax!

• Book Swaps take place at most of our children's events, where families are encouraged to bring a gently used book and then choose a "recycled" book to take home.
