| ARE YOU STRONGER THAN A LOCOMOTIVE? From the same organization that brings you the Polar Express and the Hunt for Literacy, the Believe in Books Literacy Foundation now presents the inaugural “Push for Literacy”. Do you have the muscle to push a 50,000 pound train car? If so, enter our “Push for Literacy”. Entrants will be getting teams together to push a train car down the tracks of the Hobo railroad, competing for coveted titles such as “Fastest Push” and “Strongest Costume”. All proceeds to benefit the Believe in Books “Books from Birth” literacy initiative, promoting books in the early years. What you need to know to PUSH! Date: September 6, 2008 Teams: Teams must be composed of 5 “Pushers” and one “Chief of Team”. Chief of Team is responsible for turning in all paperwork at Registration and for Team motivation! Chief of Team must have lots of energy and volume to “push” their team! Fees: Your Chief of Team will be given a pledge form when s/he signs up their team. Minimum of $60 per team, awards will be given for most push dollars raised. The Chief of Team will turn in pledge forms with all pledge dollars at Registration on September 8th. Awards: Awards will be given for highest dollars raised & fastest push, and all teams will be given a little something for PUSHING! Deadlines: Deadline to register is September 6th! Enter early to get the most pledge dollars for your push! Time: Registration will begin at 11am, Pushing begins promptly at noon! What will make the PUSH fun..... Challenge someone in your community! Get folks together from your place of employment and challenge a similar business! Form a team name! Get your friends and family to show up the day of the event to cheer you on, this is a great family event! There is a space on our registration form for Team Name and Information. Our emcee will announce you and give a little information about your team when you push, feel free to use your company name, a great way to get PR! Important Information You must wear closed toed shoes to participate in the Push for Literacy. You must be over 14 years of age. All participants must sign the liability waiver before pushing. Timing clocks will determine your time. |
