Celebrating Earth Day with
Dr. Seuss' The Lorax

The Show is Back!

The 14th Annual Earth Day Celebration will be held at the Theater in the Wood on Saturday, April 20th at 10am!

Families can come enjoy our Earth Day live performance of Dr. Seuss' "The Lorax" at the Theater in the Wood in Intervale.

There will be an appearance and photo opportunity with The Lorax himself after the show! Families can also walk our Earth Day themed Storybook Trail and visit our 100-Acre Wood Sugar Shack immediately following the performance.

"Plant a new Truffula. Treat it with care. Give it clean water. And give it fresh air. Grow a forest. Protect it from axes that hack. Then the Lorax and all of his friends may come back." These are a few lines from Dr. Seuss' beloved tale The Lorax. First published in 1971, the story chronicles the plight of the environment and of the Lorax, an advocate who "speaks for the trees" against the greedy Once-ler. As whimsical as all Dr. Seuss tales, The Lorax contains key messages regarding the destructive nature of deforestation yet highlights the positive roles that every individual can play in the fight against the destructive forces.
