As you continue reading Laws of Love and Logic, have you wondered why the author chose not to give "the boy" a name?
Do you think it was a deliberate choice? Perhaps it was meant to make him more universal, mysterious, or symbolic. Or maybe there is another reason entirely.

What were your first impressions of Lily and Jane as children?
What kind of future do you imagine for each sister based on what you've read so far? Do you think their childhood experiences will shape them in similar ways, or will they take very different paths?

I feel like for a majority of Lily's life, she never truly has a grasp on the boy. In high school, they're too young to be in what most would consider a serious relationship. After the tragedy, they're separated by force and slowly their communication dies. After everything they experienced, it would be hard to continue on. Maybe Curtis left the boy nameless to make us feel that same divide Lily experienced with him - of knowing who he is but never being able to call him hers. So close, yet so distant at the same time. Not knowing his name is frustrating, and I'm sure Lily was frustrated with the way things played out in both of their lives.
